Remembrance

This will always be a hard time of year for me. It’s a strange mix of unrelated emotions, on one hand to be so grateful for the family and friends whose love is expressed around my birthday, while spending time reliving the loss of the triplets at the same time. There’s no summing these things up, I feel gratitude for my own life and the people in it, elation at Abi’s health and growth, love for Shawna and my family, and sorrow over the loss of those three brief little lives. Nathan, Brian and Emma, you’re remembered, and loved, and missed.

33, with iPhone

I just turned 33. I’m glad to be alive and to have such an awesome wife for my best friend. Among many other wonderful things she does, apparently Shawna buys me iPhones. What an amazing gift and piece of technology. Family is doing great, Abi is almost 10 months old and is standing and saying “mama” and “dada” and has food preferences and a strong will and a sense of humor… she’s so beautiful and fierce and strong and fun. I’m so lucky. 32 was a challenging but great year.

Busy but doing fine

It’s been 2 months since I posted so here’s a quick one.

Abi is growing by leaps and bounds and has a real sense of humor. For example, she’ll pretend to share her cheerios by holding one out to you, but at the last second pull it back and gobble it down. This is followed by gleeful cackling. Heheh.

Shawna is such an amazing mother and wife, she’s doing a phenomenal job taking care of this family.

I’m working too hard but am hiring a bunch of people which in the long run will help.

Lethem’s Motherless Brooklyn was amazing, as is Carey’s True History of the Kelly Gang which I’m reading right now.

Working on another Ben Pugh film project, this time in collaboration with Billy Martin (aka “illy B”) of MMW fame. Still can’t believe he replied to my email and approved our noncommercial use of his drum tracks in the project. Considering he’s one of 1/2 dozen living musical heroes of mine, it’s a grin-inducing experience to communicate directly w/ him, let alone work on recording my guitar against his beats for this film score. I am psyched to say the least.

Upcoming Forsyth cousins reunion, Allman Bros concert w/ Jamie, ERFFL draft, and a needed week-plus vacation.  Oh and our house is on the market, we love it but it’s getting to be just too small for our growing family. Hoping to stay in the neighborhood if possible.

Peace.
