Happy New Year

2007 has been quite a year. Abi of course has been at the center of our little universe as she learns and grows, taking her first steps (now walking with confidence all over the place) and becoming a child rather than a helpless infant. Shawna continues to amaze me in her role as a mother. She is also pregnant again, due in June, and we’ll find out the gender next week. So far, so good. We took our house off the market, having decided to rent instead of sell given the market conditions, and found renters who signed a long-term lease last week. We also had our offer accepted on the house we want to buy, so if all goes well as of March we will be moved into our new home, and will be landlords of our current place. Our friends Erica and Jas just got married. I have a new job at Upromise (Architect) having decided to move back into a more technical role instead of (for now) pursuing the pure management track. We bought and sold cars a couple times to save money, settling on a Jeep Cherokee Classic for the family car, and an Audi TT for fun/commuting (the TT is gorgeous but financially was a “downgrade” from the VW, proving I can justify anything).

All this change at once has been a bit much, but I’m abundantly grateful for what we have, and am looking forward to settling in to our new house in a few short months to prepare for our new arrival.

Happy New Year to anyone who reads this, here’s to peace and prosperity in 2008.
