Quick status update
I just wrote this email to an old friend, and realized most of its contents applied to my friends at large, and isn’t too personal to just share. So, here’s a snapshot of what’s happening since my last post:
Terry my friend, you put me to shame.
You’re a good friend and I keep neglecting to respond,
not because it’s not worth the time (it is) but because
you write these awesome long tales of travel and life,
which deserve and demand a serious and lengthy reply,
and so it gets put off in order to make sure I respond in kind.
Well, f*** it, it’s taking me way too long do do your emails justice
so with a capital A, my Apologies for taking so damn long to reply.Tons going on.
Abi’s 16 months old and has words and jokes and radical climbing abilities and is a gorgeous little monkey. Shawna is 6+ months pregnant with Abi’s sister, due on the first day of Summer. Layla is doing great in her new house, we moved just 2 weeks ago to a finally-big-enough house on the hill, we have ocean views and are a short walk to restaurants and bars and cafes and the water… and you have a guest bedroom and bathroom waiting for you when you have time to come visit.
Still working at Upromise tho I changed roles to “architect” from “manager”, still doing web technology stuff but more tech and less admin overheard/red tape since the switch which is great with me.No more sailing these days but looking fwd to rolling the Triumph motorcycle out of storage in a couple weeks. Working on helping Obama get elected. Learned how to play Led Zeppelin’s “Rain Song” recently, pretty much note for note, Jimmy Page remains amazing to me.
Reading as much as ever, not travelling at all (fatherhood being the worthwhile reason) — looking fwd to hearing back from you, thanks for putting up w/ my incredibly slow response.
Talk soon, fill me in, and be well.
