Music
Music is of great importance to me. I spend inordinate amounts of time making and listening to music, whether it’s playing guitar or hand drums; going to shows; browsing at emusic.com and other online music stores; listening to pandora.com or last.fm internet radio, or enjoying my somewhat large (>10,000 song) music library. The goal of this area of my site is threefold: (1) to share recordings of my guitar playing with whoever might be interested in hearing it; (2) to share my tastes and recommendations; and (3) to share the resources I find most useful in discovering and obtaining great new music.
My Recordings
(Caveat: these are first takes! Scratchpad/back-of-napkin ideas. But what the hell.)Line6 PodXTLive->Boss RC20XL->M-Audio Ozone->Audacity->.mp3(256kbps)
- (8:45) Dec. 16 2005 - “echoes”(1 electric guitar track, with 3 loops and 1 additional lead line; simple and melancholy progression, with lots of reverb and cleaner tone on the lead line

- (8:33) Dec. 11 2005 - “eruption noise v2″(1 electric guitar track, with a loop and a lead track, using distortion settings
similar to van halen’s “eruption” - second take on same theme, slower and longer) - (6:08) Dec. 11 2005 - “eruption noise”(1 electric guitar track, with a loop and a lead track, using distortion settings
similar to van halen’s “eruption” - time to blow off some steam) - (19:11) Dec 4, 2005 - “Snow Funk”(1 mono electric guitar track, with live looping to build up 3-4 layers) … unfortunately there’s a little clipping on the bassline, which I haven’t been able to remove. hope you can enjoy it anyway.
